The WoodStepper is a versatile sequencer/synthesizer/sampler offering both audio and MIDI outputs. Its audio sources include track audio, sampled audio (live/track recorded or from files), and built-in VCOs. The device features 4 independent 8-step sequencers that can be linked to create 16, 24, or 32-step sequences. Each sequencer can operate in Synth mode, allowing for various combinations of sequencers, synths, and loopers/samplers. Notably, every step can send 4 MIDI messages to 2 MIDI channels.

For the audio part of each sequencer, users can utilize features like pitch shifting, Moog lowpass filtering with A(D)SR envelopes, saturation, amplitude envelopes, and independent delay lines per step. The VCO notes can be set via MIDI input and constrained to specific keys and interval scales. WoodStepper functions both as a stand-alone app with device audio input/output and as a plugin within a DAW.
